Tips and Tricks to Manage your time efficiently

The secret behind every successful person is his/her management of time. The better you manage your time, the more you end up saving it for things you actually enjoy. Time management is of utmost importance in not only your work life but also your personal life.

There is this zeal within each of us to do great things, make something of ourselves. But in most of our cases, what we lack is not passion but the management of time which in turn affects the execution of our goals. The goal is to get maximum work done without draining yourself completely and the only way to achieve that is focusing on how you can effectively manage your time so as to achieve each task with ease.

Hence, here we are with a few tips and tricks which will help master the Art of Time Management:

  • Make that Plan, Beforehand:

One of the best habits you can adopt is planning things beforehand, whether it be the plan you make for the next day, month or year. Noting down your goals helps you to have a clear vision of what you are to do. Once you have all the things listed down, it becomes much easier to start executing them.

  • Prioritize:

When you have a hundred things to do, the smartest way to go about it would be prioritizing, once you get an idea of what needs to be done first, it will help you to go about things at a much faster pace. Tackling the difficult things first frees you from the anxiety or stress that you may be subjected to had you been stuck with it so close to your deadline.

  • Don’t Overwhelm Yourself:

Do not bite more than you can chew. Having too much on your plate will just end up with you being stressed and affecting the quality of your work. You do not want to burn out even before you have reached your goal.

  • Break the Procrastination pattern:

Diagnose what has been keeping you from putting off a particular task for days in the end. A lot of times, fear of the unknown or fear of failure can hold you back. A lot of the times things seem intimidating because you haven’t even attempted to tackle them. Do not let fear hold you back from achieving your goals, you will grow only if you get out of the comfort zone.

  • Distance yourself from Distractions:

In the golden age of the Internet, it is easy to fall down to the social media spiral. If you want to focus on any task, make sure you distance yourself from your gadgets. Now, you don’t have to physically distance yourself from them but switching off your social media for a few hours, putting your gadgets on DND mode, etc will do the trick. There is no end to the mindless scrolling that one does on social media, so if you really want to get any task done, make sure you get rid of those distractions first.

  • Avoid Multitasking:

As mentioned before, having too many things on your plate only ends up overwhelming you. Instead of giving only 50% of yourself in 10 tasks, you cram yourself into completing. Prioritize the 5 important ones and give your 100%. Quality over Quantity, always.

  • Set Deadlines:

It is the human psyche that you are more inclined to get work done if you have a deadline to work towards. Set a reasonable deadline for yourself and make sure to manage all your tasks within that time frame.
